Every New Year is a time of new changes, both in personal life and business. Current changes force us to ask ourselves about the profitability of buying a new car in the leasing so popular among entrepreneurs.
In the upcoming 2022, the changes introduced by the Polish Deal and other tax laws will be a hard nut to crack in leasing matters.
The main topic of both the act and the entrepreneur's worries is the option to buy out a leased vehicle. Until 2022, it was possible to buy out a car after the end of the lease agreement and then resell it to another person after six months of use, without having to pay income tax. From January 1, 2022, this rule is changing, now the entrepreneur will be obliged to pay income tax and VAT when selling a car. VAT itself will also change. It was paid from the last leasing installment (1% of the car's value), and after January 1, in the case of purchasing a vehicle for private property, it will be paid from the real market value of the car. What's more, the current period in which the sale of a car is subject to taxes is also being extended.
from 6 months to up to 6 years.
It is worth remembering and noting that there is a way to bypass these regulations. Experts have come up with an idea according to which there is an option in which we can do this:"transferring the leased vehicle as a gift to a close person, who will then be able to sell it after 6 months."
According to analysts, the changes may have a real impact on the secondary car market and the entire leasing industry: experts predict that interest in leasing will decrease, and entrepreneurs will focus more on other forms of financing, such as long-term rental.
Finally, another quote from the experts from the car race:"The specter of change has had a major impact on the leasing market. Since the project was announced, more and more entrepreneurs have decided to buy a car early in order to resell it before the Polish Deal comes into effect."
