Business in Poland – interesting facts
13 October 2024Resignation from the obligation to use stamps by entrepreneurs
From 2024, Polish entrepreneurs can count on further simplifications in running their business. economic activity. One of the most important simplifications is the complete abandonment of the obligation to use stamps in contacts with offices. The change introduced is aimed at reducing bureaucracy, simplifying administrative procedures and speeding up the completion of formalities.

Why did stamps become unnecessary?
Stamps have long been considered formal proof of a company's identity, but with the development of digital technologies and public record systems such as National Court Register (KRS), their role has significantly decreased. Many countries have long since abandoned this requirement, which has become an inspiration for Polish legislators. From now on, documents submitted to offices will be able to be signed without using a stamp, provided that information about the company can be verified in public registers, such as the National Court Register.
This change will not only simplify procedures in contacts with offices, but also relations with contractors. In a situation where the stamp was required on various types of contracts, invoices or other documents, from 2024 it will be possible to waive it, which will allow for faster finalization of transactions and lower operating costs.
The change in the context of digitalization includes the gradual phasing out of traditional office tools, such as stamps, in favor of modern, digital solutions that streamline and speed up administrative processes.
The abandonment of stamps is part of a broader process of digitalization of official and business procedures. From 2024, e-invoices will become mandatory for active VAT payers as part of the National e-Invoice System (KSeF), which is another step towards full automation and simplification of business documentation. The combination of these two changes – digitization of invoicing and the elimination of stamps – will bring entrepreneurs greater flexibility and time and cost savings.
Benefits for entrepreneurs
These changes have a real impact on the daily functioning of companies, eliminating unnecessary formalities and speeding up the handling of official matters. Additionally, companies can count on a reduction in the costs associated with running a business - the lack of a stamp means there is no need to purchase and maintain it. In the long term, these changes may also improve cooperation between entrepreneurs and offices, thanks to a smaller number of required documents.
The abolition of the obligation to use stamps by entrepreneurs is a step towards a modern, digital and more effective system of conducting business activity in Poland. In combination with other changes, such as the obligation to use e-invoices in KSeF, entrepreneurs can count on significant improvement in the area of formalities and operating costs.
